2026 branded merchandise moments – How to plan ahead
Great branded merchandise doesn’t happen by accident – it happens by planning. And if you want to get your campaigns right in 2026, now’s the time to start thinking about it.
Lead times, event calendars, gifting seasons, recruitment waves and even weather seasons all play a part in what, when and why you order.
Here are the biggest dates and moments that should shape your merch strategy for 2026.
-
Corporate moments
Every business will have cycles and key moments in the year that they can build around.
Product and service launches are mini rebrands, so having the accompanying marketing collateral and branded assets to support this kind of activity is really important.
You could be a business that runs recruitment drives at certain times of the year, which may require onboarding packs and personalised stationery. If you also supply staff uniform, you might need to revise and replenish this seasonally too.
Don’t forget your company’s financial year-end too. This is a great time to use up unspent budget on restocking those evergreen promotional products – because if you don’t use it, you lose it!
-
Internal and external events
If you are a business who attends exhibitions, then Spring and Autumn are usually peak periods for preparing on-stand merchandise and giveaways. To make sure your merch makes its mark, the earlier you start brainstorming, the more options you have available to you (when it’s not just quick-turnaround items on the table), and the better your goodie bags will be.
External events can also present a fantastic opportunity for piggy-backing – where you can leverage other established holidays, trends and seasons for your own brand engagement.
Christmas is obviously the big one, but we have many businesses who develop campaigns around many other recognised holidays. Easter, weather seasons, the academic year, major sporting events like the FIFA World Cup and even Awareness Days such as World Mental Health Day and Recycle Week are always quite popular – sustainability related events in particular are gaining traction.
In additional, charitable initiatives and fundraisers are an excellent chance to kit your team out in branded merchandise for powerful visibility and brand recognition!
Even if none of these are directly relevant to your business, you can utilise them to enhance engagement with a little creativity.

Dates that can impact delivery times
While delivery times can vary at any point in the year depending on the product type and level of customisation, manufacture and branding process and, of course, supply and demand, there are always certain times of the year that would benefit from slightly longer lead times.
With China still being responsible for around a third of global manufacturing output, Chinese New Year can have a major impact on the supply of certain products, so it’s important to be aware of this if you require branded merchandise in the next six to eight weeks.
Client side, we find that approval processes can slow down internally either side of Bank Holidays and during school holidays, including Christmas, because of there being more staff on annual leave. This is something to consider in your own planning, in case you need to get decisions over the line in advance if actually needing to place an order.
